Our Hygiene Dynamic Duo
RDH — Registered Dental Hygienist (Travel Bug)
If Pattie wasn’t one of the two greatest hygienists on earth…she would probably be a travel agent! When her professional day ends, you can find her planning her next trip or enjoying gardening. Pattie’s love of travel can only be outdone by the pleasure of spending time with her husband, daughters, and grandsons.
A highly experienced dental hygienist, Pattie completed her education at the University of Connecticut and Tunxis Community College. In addition to appearing on the “Dean’s List,” she was given the distinction of “Outstanding Clinicals” for the state of Connecticut. Pattie has received extensive continuing education and periodontal training.
RDH — Registered Dental Hygienist (Go Go Speedracer)
When Amanda, our other greatest hygienist on earth ends her day…Don’t let her small stature fool you… you can find her repairing and racing cars! Her dad long ago planted the seeds that grew into a love of cars and racing. Don’t worry…there’s no grease under her nails during working hours!
Amanda holds a Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene from VCU Dental School, as well as a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science in Communication Disorders from the University of Virginia.
Administrative Engineers (Sounds important...right?)
Practice Administrator (A.K.A. The Graminator)
Pat began her career as a dental assistant many moons ago in a land far, far north and snowy! After several years as an assistant, Pat switched to the administrative side of dentistry. Pat has thrived as a Dental Software Trainer and Dental Practice Management Consultant. Pat is a member of the American Association of Dental Office Managers (AADOM) and past recipient of the Office Manager of Distinction award. Pat’s greatest accomplishments are her awesome kids. When she isn’t wearing numerous hats for Dr. Kayton, you will find her playing with the greatest, most beautiful, incredible grandchildren on Earth (yeah she’s kind of fond of them!), hanging out with her hubby, and caring for her two rescue mutts.
Scheduling Coordinator/ Patient Concierge (loves to say “concierge”)
Teresa is our tallest (a.k.a. T-Rex) team member! She can reach things no one else can! Teresa has extensive knowledge of both clinical and administrative procedures. Teresa’s marketing background makes her a great asset to our TEAM. Our T-Rex has traveled all over the U.S. training dental offices on 2D and 3D imaging technology as well as consulting on practice management. After being stranded in Alaska, it was time to get back to private practice and we are thrilled to have her! Teresa enjoys cooking, traveling (probably not Alaska again), and making memories with her magnificent husband, amazing kids, and scrumptious grandkids. (Yes, scrumptious!)
Teresa earned her Associate of Science in Business Management from Salt Lake Community College.
Dental Assistants Extraordinaire
RDA — Registered Dental Assistant (Country-fried storyteller)
Suzette’s day never ends…when she removes her dental assisting “hat”, she puts on her chef hat! We all love when Suzette brings in leftovers from her catering business. Pee Wee’s Pit Barbecue offers great barbecue, sauces and sides, and her “Pork Puppies” are to die for! Somehow she still finds time to take her kayak, “the Pink Panther”, down the James and spend time with Pee Wee himself, their three daughters, and grandson. Whew!
Suzette received her Dental Assistant certification from the Red Cross at R.A.F. Base in Bentwaters, England and her Registered Dental Assistant certification in Sacramento, CA. She also assisted in Alamogordo, NM and Tucson, AZ prior to moving to VA. Suzette also is a Master Graduate of Dental Boot Kamp (sounds scary!)
Dental Assistants Extraordinaire
RDA - Registered Dental Assistant (The Return of Kimmy)
Kim worked for us several years ago and has returned to her “dental home” and we are thrilled to have her back! Kim began assisting in 2002 and is an awesome Assistant in the clinical area as well as the front office. We love her effervescent personality and positive energy (and she loves helping us prank Dr. Jack) When she isn’t hanging out with TEAM Kayton, she enjoys spending time with friends, family, and her (very spoiled) dog Charlie!
RDA - Registered Dental Assistant (our Spanish interpreter)
Karina is our newest team member and received her training and certification from CATEC. After “shadowing” in our office as part of her training…we quickly decided she would be a great fit for our TEAM! Karina is loving dentistry and hopes to continue her education and eventually go to Hygiene school and become a licensed registered dental hygienist (RDH). She previously worked in the banking industry and at beautiful Carter Mountain Orchard (she knows a good apple when she sees one!!!).
