Fresh Breath Tips for Kissing Under the Holiday Mistletoe

added on: December 2, 2015

mistletoeIt’s here! With the holiday season in full swing, social shindigs, tons of entertaining fun with friends, family, and colleagues is finally here. While sipping a cocktail or munching on some delightful treats, be sure you’re ready for a smooch in the midst of mistletoe with clean, fresh breath. Stop by or call my Charlottesville dental office to make sure your pucker is prepared, and don’t forget to follow these easy tips prior to party time.

Stress-Free is the Way to Be

It’s easy to tell others to relax, and forget about the stress that can go hand in hand with the holidays. The truth is: when are our calendars fill with festivities, our oral and overall health tends to struggle because of less time devoted to regular maintenance routines. Eating right (we know it’s hard), drinking plenty of water, getting sufficient rest, and continuing to exercise, are all essential. A healthy mind and body means your breath will be ready for every close conversation and quick kiss coming your way.

Brush, Floss, Rejoice

Grab your toothbrush and unwind some floss, because brushing twice daily and flossing once will leave your mouth feeling fabulous, wash away food debris, and attack plaque build-up. You’ll also help prevent bad breath, leaving your mouth kissably fresh. If you encounter pain or other issues while brushing, please contact my dental office in Charlottesville for a consultation. We’re always happy to help!

Tongue Tied

Since delicious food and tempting treats are usually plentiful this time of year, it’s important to remember your tongue when completing your daily dental routine. This important muscle needs some TLC too! We always remind our patients to do a thorough tongue brushing or scraping to help remove dead cells and unwanted food particles that can lead to lousy breath. Still struggling with less-than-fresh breath? Give your Charlottesville dentist a call.  We’d be happy to help and our tongues are never tied!

Whether you’re celebrating with family, friends, or colleagues this season, we wish you cheerful tidings filled with bright smiles and fresh breath. We’ll see you and your healthy smile in 2016!

We’re always happy to welcome new patients from Charlottesville, Earlysville, and Ruckersville.
